Use 'test_atexit' to run cleanup commands to stop 'p4d' at the end of
the test script or upon interrupt or failure, as it is shorter,
simpler, and more robust than registering such cleanup commands in the
trap on EXIT in the test scripts.
Note that one of the test scripts, 't9801-git-p4-branch.sh', stops and
then re-starts 'p4d' twice in the middle of the script; take care that
the cleanup functions to stop 'p4d' are only registered once.
Note also that 'git p4' tests invoke different functions in the trap
on EXIT ('cleanup') and in the last test before 'test_done'
('kill_p4d'). Register both of these functions with 'test_atexit' for
now, and a a later patch in this series will then clean up the
redundancy.

The generic chdir() helper sets the PWD environment
variable, as that is what is used by p4 to know its
current working directory. Normally the shell would
do this, but in git-p4, we must do it by hand.
However, when the path contains a symbolic link,
os.getcwd() will return the physical location. If the
p4 client specification includes symlinks, setting PWD
to the physical location causes p4 to think it is not
inside the client workspace. It complains, e.g.
Path /vol/bar/projects/foo/... is not under client root /p/foo
One workaround is to use AltRoots in the p4 client specification,
but it is cleaner to handle it directly in git-p4.
Other uses of chdir still require setting PWD to an
absolute path so p4 features like P4CONFIG work. See
bf1d68f (git-p4: use absolute directory for PWD env
var, 2011-12-09).

This test fails when the p4 client root includes
a symlink. It complains:
Path /vol/bar/projects/foo/... is not under client root /p/foo
and dumps a traceback.

This adds a test for the fix in bf1d68f (git-p4: use absolute
directory for PWD env var, 2011-12-09). It is necessary to
set PWD to an absolute path so that p4 can find files referenced
by non-absolute paths, like the value of the P4CONFIG environment
variable.
P4 does not open files directly; it builds a path by prepending
the contents of the PWD environment variable.

For temporary files that are created in the top-level TRASH_DIRECTORY,
trust that the tests do not chdir except in subshells, and avoid some
quoting.

Drop the $GITP4 variable that was used to specify the script in
contrib/fast-import/. The command is called "git p4" now, not
"git-p4".
Note that configuration variables will remain in a section called
"git-p4".

Change several tests to use the sane_unset function introduced in
v1.7.3.1-35-g00648ba instead of the built-in unset function.
This fixes a failure I was having on t9130-git-svn-authors-file.sh on
Solaris, and prevents several other issues from occurring.
