2020-05-20t: use update-ref and show-ref to reading/writing refsLibravatar Han-Wen Nienhuys1-2/+2
Reading and writing .git/refs/* assumes that refs are stored in the 'files' ref backend. Signed-off-by: Han-Wen Nienhuys <hanwen@google.com> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2018-01-03Allow the test suite to pass in a directory whose name contains spacesLibravatar Johannes Schindelin1-2/+2
It is totally legitimate to clone Git's source code anywhere, including into, say, directories whose name (or the name of its absolute path) contains spaces. However, a couple of tests failed to anticipate this, for lack of quoting (or in one instance, for failure to expect more than one space in the absolute path of the TEST_DIRECTORY). This can be easily verified by calling these commands in your current clone: git clone . with\ spaces cd with\ spaces make -j15 test Let's fix this. 2012-12-19t9020: use configured Python to run the test helperLibravatar Junio C Hamano1-3/+7
The test helper svnrdump_sim.py is used as "svnrdump" during the execution of this test, but the arrangement was not optimal: - it relied on symbolic links; - unportable "export VAR=VAL" was used; - GIT_BUILD_DIR variable was not quoted correctly; - it assumed that the Python interpreter is in /usr/bin/ and called "python" (i.e. not "python2.7" etc.) Rework this by writing a small shell script that spawns the right Python interpreter, using the right quoting. 2012-10-07Add a test script for remote-svnLibravatar Florian Achleitner1-0/+84
Use svnrdump_sim.py to emulate svnrdump without an svn server. Tests fetching, incremental fetching, fetching from file://, and the regeneration of fast-import's marks file.
