	When running a command like: git log --pretty=format:%ad --date=short the date option was ignored. This patch causes it to use whatever format was specified by --date (or by --relative-date, etc), just as the non-user formats would do. 	As a general principle, we should not use "git diff" to validate the results of what git command that is being tested has done. We would not know if we are testing the command in question, or locating a bug in the cute hack of "git diff --no-index". Rather use test_cmp for that purpose. 	formats. This changes the interporate() to replace entries with NULL values by the empty string, and uses it to interpolate missing fields in custom format output used in git-log and friends. 2007-03-28	Fix "--pretty=format:" for parent related items.	Junio C Hamano	1	-4/+4
	There are two breakages in the %P/%p interpolation. It appended an excess SP at the end of the list, and it gave uninitialized contents of a buffer on the stack for root commits.
