2021-12-13tests: use test_write_lines() to generate line-oriented outputLibravatar Eric Sunshine1-5/+1
Take advantage of test_write_lines() to generate line-oriented output rather than using for-loops or a series of `echo` commands. Not only is test_write_lines() a natural fit for such a task, but there is less opportunity for a broken &&-chain. 2021-11-01leak tests: mark some apply tests as passing with SANITIZE=leakLibravatar Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason1-0/+2
Mark some tests that match "*apply*" as passing when git is compiled with SANITIZE=leak. They'll now be listed as running under the "GIT_TEST_PASSING_SANITIZE_LEAK=true" test mode (the "linux-leaks" CI target). 2009-05-06t4118: avoid sed invocation on file without terminating newlineLibravatar Brandon Casey1-1/+1
Some versions of sed exit non-zero if the file they are supplied is not newline terminated. Solaris's /usr/xpg4/bin/sed is one such sed. In this case the sed invocation can be avoided entirely since the resulting file is equivalent to a previously created file. So, just copy that file into place instead. 2008-05-24tests: do not use implicit "git diff --no-index"Libravatar Junio C Hamano1-3/+3
As a general principle, we should not use "git diff" to validate the results of what git command that is being tested has done. We would not know if we are testing the command in question, or locating a bug in the cute hack of "git diff --no-index". Rather use test_cmp for that purpose. 2007-07-02Rewrite "git-frotz" to "git frotz"Libravatar Junio C Hamano1-1/+1
This uses the remove-dashes target to replace "git-frotz" to "git frotz". Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2007-06-07War on whitespaceLibravatar Junio C Hamano1-1/+0
This uses "git-apply --whitespace=strip" to fix whitespace errors that have crept in to our source files over time. There are a few files that need to have trailing whitespaces (most notably, test vectors). The results still passes the test, and build result in Documentation/ area is unchanged. 2007-03-04Get rid of the dependency to GNU diff in the testsLibravatar Johannes Schindelin1-3/+3
Now that "git diff" handles stdin and relative paths outside the working tree correctly, we can convert all instances of "diff -u" to "git diff". This commit is really the result of $ perl -pi.bak -e 's/diff -u/git diff/' $(git grep -l "diff -u" t/) Signed-off-by: Johannes Schindelin <johannes.schindelin@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net> (cherry picked from commit c699a40d68215c7e44a5b26117a35c8a56fbd387)
2006-10-19git-apply: prepare for upcoming GNU diff -u format change.Libravatar Linus Torvalds1-0/+55
The latest GNU diff from CVS emits an empty line to express an empty context line, instead of more traditional "single white space followed by a newline". Do not get broken by it. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
