2021-10-12leak tests: mark some misc tests as passing with SANITIZE=leakLibravatar Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason1-0/+1
Mark some tests that match "*{mktree, commit, diff, grep,rm,merge, hunk}*" as passing when git is compiled with SANITIZE=leak. They'll now be listed as running under the "GIT_TEST_PASSING_SANITIZE_LEAK=true" test mode (the "linux-leaks" CI target). These were picked because we still have a lot of failures in adjacent areas, and we didn't have much if any coverage of e.g. grep and diff before this change, we could still whitelist a lot more tests, but let's stop for now. 2016-07-18test-lib.sh: introduce and use $EMPTY_TREELibravatar Nguyễn Thái Ngọc Duy1-1/+1
This is a special SHA1. Let's keep it at one place, easier to replace later when the hash change comes, easier to recognize. Signed-off-by: Nguyễn Thái Ngọc Duy <pclouds@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2015-12-27t/t1100-commit-tree-options.sh: use the $( ... ) construct for command ↵Libravatar Elia Pinto1-2/+2
substitution The Git CodingGuidelines prefer the $(...) construct for command substitution instead of using the backquotes `...`. The backquoted form is the traditional method for command substitution, and is supported by POSIX. However, all but the simplest uses become complicated quickly. In particular, embedded command substitutions and/or the use of double quotes require careful escaping with the backslash character. The patch was generated by: for _f in $(find . -name "*.sh") do perl -i -pe 'BEGIN{undef $/;} s/`(.+?)`/\$(\1)/smg' "${_f}" done and then carefully proof-read. 2012-07-29t1100-*.sh: Fix an intermittent test failureLibravatar Ramsay Jones1-0/+1
In particular, the final test ('flags and then non flags') fails intermittently, depending on how much time elapsed between the invocations of "git commit-tree" when creating the commits which later have their commit id's compared. For example, if the commits for childid-3 and childid-4 are created 1 or more seconds apart, then the commits, which would otherwise be identical, will have different commit id's. In order to make the test reproducible, we remove the variability by setting the author and committer times to a well defined state. We accomplish this with a single call to 'test_tick' at the start of the test. Signed-off-by: Ramsay Jones <ramsay@ramsay1.demon.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2012-07-17commit-tree: resurrect command line parsing updatesLibravatar Junio C Hamano1-0/+17
79a9312 (commit-tree: update the command line parsing, 2011-11-09) updated the command line parser to understand the usual "flags first and then non-flag arguments" order, in addition to the original and a bit unusual "tree comes first and then zero or more -p <parent>". Unfortunately, ba3c69a (commit: teach --gpg-sign option, 2011-10-05) broke it by mistake. Resurrect it, and protect the feature with a test from future breakages. 2009-03-17Tests: use test_cmp instead of diff where possibleLibravatar Miklos Vajna1-1/+1
Several old tests were written before test_cmp was introduced, convert these to test_cmp. If were are at it, fix the order of the arguments where necessary to make expected come first, so the command shows how the test result deviates from the correct output. 2005-08-13[PATCH] fix null TZ problems on os/xLibravatar Brad Roberts1-1/+1
It seems that the localtime() libc routine doesn't care for finding a TZ that's empty. It's ok with TZ not being set. Setting the TZ to GMT allowed these tests to pass. $ uname -v Darwin Kernel Version 7.9.0: Wed Mar 30 20:11:17 PST 2005; root:xnu/xnu-517.12.7.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC Signed-off-by: Brad Roberts <braddr@puremagic.com> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
2005-07-26Adjust diff-raw tests to the status letter change.Libravatar Junio C Hamano1-0/+0
We use 'A' for added files instead of 'N' to make the it visually easier to distinguish from 'M' now. While we are at it, make the test scripts executable. Yes, I know it does not matter because t/Makefile runs them explicitly with "sh tXXXX-blah.sh", but being consistent is always better. Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
2005-05-26[PATCH] fix and testcase for git-commit-tree optionLibravatar Rene Scharfe1-0/+45
