2010-12-22t1020-subdirectory: test alias expansion in a subdirectoryLibravatar Michael J Gruber1-0/+8
Add a test for alias expansion in a subdirectory of the worktree. Signed-off-by: Michael J Gruber <git@drmicha.warpmail.net> Signed-off-by: Nguyễn Thái Ngọc Duy <pclouds@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2010-09-09t1020: Get rid of 'cd "$HERE"' at the start of each testLibravatar Jens Lehmann1-41/+50
To achieve that, all cd commands which weren't inside a subshell had to be put into a new one. Signed-off-by: Jens Lehmann <Jens.Lehmann@web.de> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2010-09-09tests: subshell indentation stylefixLibravatar Jonathan Nieder1-6/+7
Format the subshells introduced by the previous patch (Several tests: cd inside subshell instead of around, 2010-09-06) like so: ( cd subdir && ... ) && This is generally easier to read and has the nice side-effect that this patch will show what commands are used in the subshell, making it easier to check for lost environment variables and similar behavior changes. Cc: Jens Lehmann <Jens.Lehmann@web.de> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Nieder <jrnieder@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2010-09-06Several tests: cd inside subshell instead of aroundLibravatar Jens Lehmann1-3/+3
Fixed all places where it was a straightforward change from cd'ing into a directory and back via "cd .." to a cd inside a subshell. Found these places with "git grep -w "cd \.\.". Signed-off-by: Jens Lehmann <Jens.Lehmann@web.de> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2010-06-25tests: Say "pass" rather than "ok" on empty lines for TAPLibravatar Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason1-6/+6
Lines that begin with "ok" confuse the TAP harness because it can't distinguish them from a test counter. Work around the issue by saying "pass" instead, which isn't a reserved TAP word. Signed-off-by: Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason <avarab@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2009-03-22Use prerequisite tags to skip tests that depend on symbolic linksLibravatar Johannes Sixt1-1/+1
Many tests depend on that symbolic links work. This introduces a check that sets the prerequisite tag SYMLINKS if the file system supports symbolic links. Since so many tests have to check for this prerequisite, we do the check in test-lib.sh, so that we don't need to repeat the test in many scripts. To check for 'ln -s' failures, you can use a FAT partition on Linux: $ mkdosfs -C git-on-fat 1000000 $ sudo mount -o loop,uid=j6t,gid=users,shortname=winnt git-on-fat /mnt Clone git to /mnt and $ GIT_SKIP_TESTS='t0001.1[34] t0010 t1301 t403[34] t4129.[47] t5701.7 t7701.3 t9100 t9101.26 t9119 t9124.[67] t9200.10 t9600.6' \ make test (These additionally skipped tests depend on POSIX permissions that FAT on Linux does not provide.) 2008-05-05Fix tests breaking when checkout path contains shell metacharactersLibravatar Bryan Donlan1-11/+11
This fixes the remainder of the issues where the test script itself is at fault for failing when the git checkout path contains whitespace or other shell metacharacters. The majority of git svn tests used the idiom test_expect_success "title" "test script using $svnrepo" These were changed to have the test script in single-quotes: test_expect_success "title" 'test script using "$svnrepo"' which unfortunately makes the patch appear larger than it really is. One consequence of this change is that in the verbose test output the value of $svnrepo (and in some cases other variables, too) is no longer expanded, i.e. previously we saw * expecting success: test script using /path/to/git/t/trash/svnrepo but now it is: * expecting success: test script using "$svnrepo" Signed-off-by: Bryan Donlan <bdonlan@fushizen.net> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2007-07-02Rewrite "git-frotz" to "git frotz"Libravatar Junio C Hamano1-18/+18
This uses the remove-dashes target to replace "git-frotz" to "git frotz". Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>

2007-01-20Do not verify filenames in a bare repositoryLibravatar Johannes Schindelin1-0/+29
For example, it makes no sense to check the presence of a file named "HEAD" when calling "git log HEAD" in a bare repository. Noticed by Han-Wen Nienhuys. Signed-off-by: Johannes Schindelin <Johannes.Schindelin@gmx.de>
2006-08-03Add a couple of subdirectory tests.Libravatar Junio C Hamano1-0/+109
We still have too few of them, but we have to start from somewhere. The general rule is to make tests easy to debug when run with -v (notice use of seemingly useless echo everywhere in the new tests). Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
