2007-09-16Now that cache.h needs strbuf.h, remove useless includes.Libravatar Pierre Habouzit1-1/+0

2007-09-10Replace all read_fd use with strbuf_read, and get rid of it.Libravatar Pierre Habouzit1-12/+9
This brings builtin-stripspace, builtin-tag and mktag to use strbufs. Signed-off-by: Pierre Habouzit <madcoder@debian.org> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2007-07-26Teach "git stripspace" the --strip-comments optionLibravatar Johannes Schindelin1-1/+6
With --strip-comments (or short -s), git stripspace now removes lines beginning with a '#', too. Signed-off-by: Johannes Schindelin <johannes.schindelin@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2007-07-18Rename read_pipe() with read_fd() and make its buffer nul-terminated.Libravatar Carlos Rica1-1/+3
The new name is closer to the purpose of the function. A NUL-terminated buffer makes things easier when callers need that. Since the function returns only the memory written with data, almost always allocating more space than needed because final size is unknown, an extra NUL terminating the buffer is harmless. It is not included in the returned size, so the function remains working as before. Also, now the function allows the buffer passed to be NULL at first, and alloc_nr is now used for growing the buffer, instead size=*2. 2007-07-11Function stripspace now gets a buffer instead file descriptors.Libravatar Carlos Rica1-24/+37
An implementation easier to call from builtins. It is designed to be used from the upcoming builtin-tag.c and builtin-commit.c, because both need to remove unwanted spaces from messages. Signed-off-by: Carlos Rica <jasampler@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
2007-06-26Fix git-stripspace to process correctly long lines and spaces.Libravatar Carlos Rica1-24/+45
Now the implementation gets more memory to store completely each line before removing trailing spaces, and does it right when the last line of the file ends with spaces and no newline at the end. Function stripspace needs again to be non-static in order to call it from "builtin-tag.c" and the upcoming "builtin-commit.c". A new parameter skip_comments was also added to the stripspace function to optionally strips every shell #comment from the input, needed for doing this task on those programs. 2006-12-20simplify inclusion of system header files.Libravatar Junio C Hamano1-3/+0
This is a mechanical clean-up of the way *.c files include system header files. (1) sources under compat/, platform sha-1 implementations, and xdelta code are exempt from the following rules; (2) the first #include must be "git-compat-util.h" or one of our own header file that includes it first (e.g. config.h, builtin.h, pkt-line.h); (3) system headers that are included in "git-compat-util.h" need not be included in individual C source files. (4) "git-compat-util.h" does not have to include subsystem specific header files (e.g. expat.h). Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
2006-07-29Call setup_git_directory() much earlierLibravatar Linus Torvalds1-1/+1
This changes the calling convention of built-in commands and passes the "prefix" (i.e. pathname of $PWD relative to the project root level) down to them. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
